Pete Doherty squirted a syringe-full of his own blood at cameramen during an interview.
The wild rocker had initially refused to join his Babyshambles bandmates for the interview with MTV News, which took place backstage after a gig in Berlin.
But while the others were being quizzed, the star burst into the room and emptied a syringe of what appeared to be blood on the camera lens.
He shouted: "That was a wicked shot."
It's also been claimed the troubled singer - who has publicly battled drug addiction - injected heroin in view of the production team before the incident.
A source told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "Doherty had been behaving strangely in the room next door. He seemed to be injecting heroin and didn't care who saw him. Then he hid the syringe under a towel and went to the interview room.
"Suddenly he squirted blood all over the camera and cameramen, it left everyone shocked. The camera guys were worried they might have picked something up from the blood."
It comes just weeks after a national newspaper printed photographs showing Doherty - who has an on/off romance with supermodel Kate Moss - sticking a syringe into a girl's arm as she lay on the floor.
