Is there hope for Nick and Jessica?

If you’re still pulling for Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson, hold on. Sources for Life & Style Weekly claim that a reunion could still be in the cards for the former “Newlyweds.�?

While in New York City with a friend earlier this month, Simpson was heard saying, “I’m tired of being alone,�? reports L&S. “I have no one to come home to, no one to call at the end of the night. I’m traveling all over the place by myself. When I was with Nick, I had someone who understood what I was going through,�? Jessica continued.

Friends of Simpson are urging her to take Lachey back, the magazine claims. They say that there is a chance that the couple could work through their differences. “Don’t be surprised if they get back together," one friend told the tabloid. While another pal said, “[A reconciliation] would be explosive and they’re both attracted to fireworks.�?

Lending hope to the rumors is the fact that the once icy relationship between the pair has warmed up since their split was announced. Simpson even sent an orchid and a basket of Nick’s favorite pinwheel cookies when she heard that his show, “She Said, He Said,�? was not picked up by a network. “That really cheered him up,�? an insider told Life & Style.
