Hilfiger puts the smack down on Axl

Rosario Dawson had quite a rocking birthday party last Thursday at NYC club, The Plumm. The 27-year-old actress was serenaded by Guns N’ Roses. But it wasn’t the performance that made the evening a wild one - it was the pre-performance brawl between Guns frontman Axl Rose and designer Tommy Hilfiger.

According to Rose, the fight began because he “moved [Tommy’s] girlfriend's drink so it wouldn't spill.� After moving the drink, Hilfiger smacked Axl’s arm and "he just kept smacking me," Rose said in an interview with KROQ. "It was the most surreal thing, I think, that's ever happened to me in my life," he claimed.

An eyewitness to the fight told Page Six, “A bunch of security ran over - but Tommy would not back down. He was just out to take him down.� After the row was quieted, Axl took the stage with Guns and performed “You’re crazy,� which he dedicated to "my good friend Tommy Hilfiger.

Page Six, however, said there was more to the fight than Axl revealed. The gossip column says that Hilfiger was upset because Rose is dating Diane O'Connor, who is the ex-wife of Hilfiger's adopted brother, Michael H. A source for Page Six said that Tommy had a “pact� with Michael to beat up Axl.

Rose would not confirm his relationship with O’Connor as the reason behind the fight, but told Page Six, "I don't hold any grudge against [Tommy]. I just don't understand him.�
