CaCee drops Jessica Simpson

A rep for Jessica Simpson has confirmed that she and her assistant, CaCee Cobb have parted ways - at least professionally. CaCee found her own little piece of fame as Simpson’s personal assistant as she was prominently featured on the show “Newlyweds� alongside Jessica and her ex, Nick Lachey.

Many wonder, however, if it was Cobb’s relationship with Lachey that caused her to leave her position as personal assistant. Despite being Jessica’s best friend, a source told Us Weekly, “CaCee’s still really close with Nick and adores him.� Photographs of the pair getting close have even prompted speculation that they may be more than friends.

Regardless of the reason for Cobb’s departure, Simpson seemed wistful when they celebrated her last day on the job at Arnie Morton’s Steakhouse on May 7. According to Us Weekly, Simpson said, “You are my best friend. I will be your best friend forever.�
