Brad Pitt says Angelina Jolie's Baby birth 'imminent'
Brad Pitt sent an e-mail to the Cannes Film Festival on Tuesday saying he was unable to attend because of the "imminent arrival" of his new baby. "With the imminent arrival of the newest addition to our family, I am unable to join Alejandro, Cate, Gael and the rest of the cast and crew introducing the film. I am tremendously proud of Babel and want to congratulate everyone involved for this great achievement." The star was due to join costars Cate Blanchett and Gael Garcia Bernal for Tuesday morning's screening of their movie Babel, directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu reports People Magazine. The ensemble drama tells several interweaving stories set in Mexico, Japan and Morocco – where Pitt shot scenes with Blanchett last year. Since Friday, reports out of Namibia suggest Angelina Jolie is already in Labor, if the reports are to believed she has been in labour for over 100hrs.... Pitt and Jolie have sparked a media frenzy since arriving in the southern African country over six weeks ago to have their first child. Their bodyguards and Namibian security have tried to shield the couple from journalists. Meanwhile, according to Reuters, half of Namibians voting in an informal radio survey believe the day Angelina Jolie gives birth should be declared a national holiday, an honor usually reserved for kings, queens and national heroes. "We have a tie, it's 50-50," the DJ for popular local radio station Radio Wave announced on Tuesday after listeners were asked whether the "Brangelina" baby should be accorded the honor.
