Alba to host MTV Movie Awards

We’re betting the MTV Movie Awards will have a bigger audience than usual this year. The annual mid-summer show is usually a bit of a drag, but this year Hollywood “It Girl� Jessica Alba will be taking the reins. Jessica, who just turned 25, will host the event, which airs on the network June 8 at 9 pm.

"It's always a crazy, fun show, and I can't wait to be right in the middle of the action," Alba told The Associated Press. "The MTV Movie Awards is like a three-ring circus, and I'm thrilled they asked me to be this year's ringmaster,� she added in a statement to MTV.com.

The actress is a multiple nominee in addition to the show’s host. She is up for Sexiest Performance (for Sin City) as well as Best Hero and Best On-screen Team (for Fantastic Four).

Though the show will debut on the 8th, it will actually be filmed on June 3 at Sony Picture Studios in Culver City, Calif. Check back at the Bosh for spoilers.
