Tom Cruise "Mission: Impossible III"

Hollywood actor Tom Cruise skipped a "Mission: Impossible III" news conference Wednesday in Paris to hit the boutiques in search of outfits for his new baby.

Cruise left dozens of camera teams, reporters and photographers waiting in vain for him at Paris' Ritz hotel on Wednesday, where he was supposed to give a press conference to promote his latest blockbuster film "Mission: Impossible III".

"Tom has decided to visit Paris with his two children (instead)," a spokeswoman said, referring to Isabella and Connor who Cruise adopted during his marriage to actress Nicole Kidman.

Cruise, whose bride-to-be Katie Holmes gave birth to their baby girl Suri last week, was still due to appear at the French premiere of the new film in Paris later on Wednesday, she said.

Cruise said on Monday Holmes had convinced him to keep touring Europe to promote the film -- a few hours after he told a packed news conference in Rome he was to rush home to be with his family

Meanwhile, according to PageSix. Katie Holmes may not be home alone with baby Suri while Tom Cruise is out promoting "Mission: Impossible 3" . People who have lived in the house on Alpine Lane in Beverly Hills that Cruise and Holmes are currently renting say it's haunted. Producer Jon Peters and daughter Caleigh used to live there. Caleigh, now a high school junior and aspiring singer and actress, has told friends she "heard noises in the house" and described it as "creepy," "haunted" and full of ghosts.
