‘Michelle Rodriguez opts for jail!

'Lost' star Michelle Rodriguez pleaded guilty Tuesday to driving under the influence, and she opted for jail rather than community service. A judge in Honolulu gave her the option after pleading guilty last month. "I would suspect that because she has a hard time even going out for a meal without being intruded upon for an autograph or photograph, it's really difficult for her to do community service," her lawyer said.

"I kind of have to get back to my life, go back to making some money," she said outside court.

Rodriguez, who portrays police officer Ana Lucia, and cast member Cynthia Watros were both charged with drunken driving after they were pulled over Dec. 1 in separate cars within 15 minutes of each other.

Choosing jail over community service was a "personal choice," said her lawyer, Steve Barta.

Rodriguez recorded a blood-alcohol level of 0.17, more than twice the legal limit of .08. Watros had a blood-alcohol level of 0.10.

Soon after, Rodriguez spent two weeks in a rehab clinic, her lawyer said.

"She did recognize there was an issue to be dealt with. She on her own took care of it," he said.

It was her second DUI. Rodriguez was sentenced to three years probation in June, 2004 by a Los Angeles judge.

The Los Angeles City Attorney went to court in January asking the judge to revoke her probation. She has been ordered to appear for a probation revocation hearing on May 5. The judge could order her to serve more than 16 months in jail.

I just can't figure out why any one would opt for jail time over community service.

She said in an interview.....she didn't want to milk it out over a period of time, just get it over and move on with her life-
