The heartthrob singer - who has appeared in two movies, 'Edison' and 'Alpha
Dog' - will star as a Rambo-esque war hero battling to free his best friend,
who has been taken hostage by the enemy.
The singer reportedly had to convince film bosses he could be macho enough
to play a tough soldier in the movie.
A source is quoted in Britain's The Sun newspaper as saying: "Justin is
thrilled about getting his first leading role.
"It is a huge challenge for him and he is excited as well as nervous."
Justin, who is romancing actress Cameron Diaz, is now rushing to finish
recording his new album before he starts shooting.
The insider said: "Justin will have to work quickly to finish the songs. He
has been in the studio but he won't have much time once he starts filming."
