Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s line of children’s clothing is not what you would call high fashion. Their personal style, however, is often made up of designer duds that most of us cannot afford. The twins’ unique approach to fashion has already landed them the covers of top magazines like W and Harper’s Bazaar. Even designers have taken notice and the sisters have been approached to model for Badgley Mischka’s latest campaign.
Of their decision to use Mary-Kate and Ashley as their latest muses, Mark Badgley and James Mischka said, "Ashley and Mary-Kate have grown up to become America's young style icons. They have an amazing sense of fashion and individuality that intrigued us. [They] reflect the younger, edgier and more sensual glamour that we have incorporated in our latest fall collection."
Ashley returned the compliment when she said, "We have been fans of Mark and James for years and were honored when approached to appear in the campaign. Mary-Kate called the designs of Badgley Mischka “glamorous, beautiful, colorful and fun."
The ads, photographed by Gilles Bensimon in the presidential suite of the St. Regis Hotel in Manhattan, will run in the April issues of Vogue, Elle, InStyle and Vanity Fair.
