"She needs to be more natural. She is a beautiful girl, but I have told her
to tone it down.
"I have told her to dress her age, instead of dressing like my Aunt Minnie."
Scarlett is not surprised by her director's criticism.
She said: "Woody doesn't like anything I wear."
Despite Allen saying she dresses like an old lady, Scarlett's mother has
criticized her for revealing too much cleavage at last week's Golden Globe
awards.
The screen beauty wore a low-cut red dress to the star-studded event - but
her mum, Melanie, says she went too far by showing off her ample breasts.
A friend of Scarlett's family said: "Melanie said she looked like a member
of the 'Baywatch' cast.
"Mel feels Scarlett tried a little too hard to show off her figure - to the
point where she was almost bursting out of her dress."
