Kate Beckinsale sizzles in Underworld: Evolution

Underworld: Evolution, starring British actress, Kate Beckinsale continues the saga of war between the Death Dealers and the Lycans (werewolves). The film traces the beginnings of the ancient feud between the two tribes as Selene (Kate Beckinsale), the hottest vampire, ever, and Michael (Scott Speedman), the lycan hybrid, try to unlock the secrets of their bloodlines

Even though, Evolution film is darker than the original and acted a great deal better, the film fits together seamlessly with it's predecessor, making the two parts feel like one, so much so that the new film picks up moments after the first "Underworld" ended. The lingering questions from the first part are quickly wrapped, most of the remaining plot deals with the reawakened Marcus, the last remaining vampire Elder. In Underworld: Evolution, Marcus has transformed into a super-charged, winged beast, and he is out to exact revenge writes IGN

Marcus is one of the true joys of the film.

"Evolution" benefits from all of the strengths of the original, plus a substantially larger budget, giving director Len Wiseman a chance to really spread his wings and show off some excellent action set-pieces writes ComingSoon

Wiseman is also Beckinsale’s husband, which might explain the loving way she’s photographed, most notably in a tastefully lighted sex scene in which the camera pays particular attention to her belly button/hip region writes AP

As a lfpress.ca reviewer points out, for a flim about vampires and werewolves, Underworld: Evolution has far too little suspense, tension or shock for it to qualify as a horror flick. The film comes across as an action flick.

Did I mention how hot Kate looked in Underworld, I can't wait for part 3.

"Underworld: Evolution" is rated R for pervasive strong violence and gore, some sexuality/nudity and language.
