It’s “The Producers? week at The Bosh, and we’re celebrating the stars of the movie. First up is Nathan Lane. He was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, where something in the air simply does make people funny.
His previous film and TV appearances have included “One of the Boys,? “The Boys Next Door,? and “The Best Man.? You could get the idea that Nathan Lane prefers women, if you were retarded.
On Broadway, Lane has appeared in “The Producers? as Max Bialystock and in “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum? as Pseudolus. Coincidentally, Zero Mostel had played both roles in earlier films. Coincidental with Nathan Lane’s enormous talent, he won Tony Awards for his Bilaystock and his Pseudolus. Accepting his second Tony, he looked towards the heights and thanked the spirit of Zero Mostel for having inhabited him. Lucky for Nathan, it was only the spirit, because Zero Mostel had more extra baggage than Paris Hilton flying for a mysterious rendez-vous with an unknown Greek billionaire.
