Nicole Richie devastated by her break up

Christmas is a hard time to be lonely. The holidays seem to make it even more obvious when you don’t have a date to lean on. And there’s nothing worse than getting stuck under the mistletoe with no one to kiss. So it’s no wonder that Nicole Richie is rumored to be having a hard time dealing with her break up with Adam Goldstein. The pair recently ended their engagement amidst rumors that Nicole’s obsession with her weight was wearing on Adam.

A friend of Nicole’s told Page Six that her former fiancé halted their wedding plans because "it was just something that he knew he had to do." But though Goldstein had been thinking about breaking up with Richie for some time, it was all news to her. She was "still making plans together for trips and business ventures. It really did come right out of left field for Nicole," said the friend.

Right now, Richie could use her gal pals more than ever. Perhaps she’ll even extend some holiday cheer towards ex-best friend, Paris Hilton. Hilton is rumored to be considering ending her famous feud with Richie since they are both experiencing the aftermath of broken engagements now.
