Now we know why Lindsay Lohan lunched with supermodel Kate Moss the other day, she was getting tips on how to be a Chanel girl.
Since Moss’s contract with the Paris fashion house was not renewed after she was caught doing cocaine in September, Chanel was looking for a new woman to be the face of the iconic brand. Lohan was chosen and will star in the label’s next ad campaign.
According to Contact Music, Lohan has already done a photoshoot with Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld. She said, "I'm shooting with Karl Lagerfeld! It's amazing. I'm so excited. I think it's for a magazine."
Meanwhile, Lohan's redheaded predecessor Julia Roberts has signed on to be a spokesmodel for Gianfranco Ferre's new promotional campaign. Ferre explained why he chose Roberts as his muse to Fashion Wire Daily: "In the now so multifaceted realm of glamour and allure, both as a woman and as a personality Julia Roberts in my eyes reflects a total affinity with this ideal of mine. What enchants me most are her presence and manner, her way of being energetic and calm at the same time and her naturally aristocratic self-possession. I love her smile; open, direct, inviting and at the same time captivatingly shy. And I adore her vitality, her natural ease, and her free spirit. Everything about her makes her the authentic Ferre woman." Phew, that's a mouthful.

I e-mailed Chanel corporate with my opinion that Lindsay Lohan didn't really fit the Chanel image, she's too young, too unsophisticated. Got an e-mail back this morning from Chanel saying that Lindsay Lohan WAS NOT chosen to represent Chanel, so is this a confirmed thing or just hopeful rumor on Lindsay's part, like when she said she was chosen to be the female lead in Mission Impossible III?
