The “King Kong� remake currently in movie houses is not a pornographic film, yet critic Sean Burns calls it “Ass numbing.� His complaint was the length of the thing. He found it hard to take.

But not all commentators have been responding to Kong with such high praise. First there is biological reality; gorillas, despite their generally large size, are hung like Chihuahuas. “Kong’s eye-popping array of cinematic tricks reflects the filmmaking philosophy of a director for whom anything worth doing is worth overdoing, then doing to death.� So wrote Carol Cling.
