Brad Pitt to Adopt Angelina Jolie's Kids

Hollywood star Brad Pitt is seeking to become the adoptive father of Angelina Jolie's children.

A legal petition seeking to change the names of the children to Zahara Jolie-Pitt and Maddox Jolie-Pitt was filed in Los Angeles, publicist Cindy Guagenti said in a written statement to The Associated Press.

"We are confirming that Brad Pitt is in the process of becoming the adoptive father of both children," the statement said. "No further comment is being made."

The adoption of Angelina's children is just the latest step that Brad & Angelina are taking on the road to marriage reports Perez Hilton. The couple, who began 'dating' after Pitt split from wife Jennifer Aniston, have so far refused to speak publicly about their relationship. (Pitt and actress Jennifer Aniston announced their separation in January, and Aniston filed for divorce in March, citing irreconcilable differences.) Rumors of a Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie romance began when they starred together in the film Mr and Mrs Smith and have since been pictured together with the children.

In Touch magazine is reporting that Jolie and Pitt have already signed a prenuptial agreement, "primarily to benefit the two children, and the document includes details about the adoption."

Jolie, who is a single mom to Maddox, 4, and Zahara, 11 months, told PEOPLE at the first annual Worldwide Orphans Foundation benefit on Oct. 24 that she wants to adopt again.

Pitt accompanied Jolie, his "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" co-star, when she went to Ethiopia in July to pick up Zahara, now about 10 months old.

Jolie and Pitt recently travelled to Pakistan to witness the devastation caused by October's earthquake as part of Jolie's work as a United Nations goodwill ambassador reports BBC news.

such such such a major mistake on her part. She's got those kids all to herself. In the months or years when they break up, she's gotta share those kids with Brad and the kids are gonna be miserable doing the visitation song and dance. WRONG!!!
