Ashlee Simpson collapses in Japan

According to MTV News, Ashlee Simpson was hospitalized after collapsing in Japan. At the time of her collapse, Ashlee was doing an appearance on MTV’s Japanese network. MTV.com reports, “after performing her single ‘Boyfriend,’ she told the MTV Japan audience that she felt ill. Simpson later collapsed in an elevator and was rushed by ambulance to a nearby hospital.�

Ashlee’s manager (and father) said on Friday, "She's still in the hospital, on an I.V."

Ashlee was in Japan to promote her new album, “I Am Me.� She was scheduled to return from the country in time to appear at the Radio Music Awards in Las Vegas on Monday, but her rep has announced that she will have to miss the event. There are still no details on the reason for Ashlee’s collapse.
