The Bosh was profoundly heartbroken at the time Ashlee Simpson suffered her lip-synching scandal on Saturday Night Live. Here you had one of the greatest voices of the 21st century, gamely venturing to lip-synch when afflicted by a sore throat, and what thanks did it get? Merciless ridicule!
Ashlee has since been trying to prove herself to her fans, with some sorry results. After singing “Catch Me When I Fall� during a concert in her comeback tour in Tokyo, she told the audience “I love you guys,� went into the wings and collapsed, and then was rushed by ambulance to a hospital.
“We don’t think it has anything to do with her IQ, but we’re not ruling anything out at this point,� a doctor did not say. However, Joe Simpson and the gang are awaiting an official diagnosis before deciding whether to journey to Japan to be at their beloved lip-syncher’s sick bedside. Wagging tongues everywhere are having a field day recalling Ashlee’s McDonald’s debacle (“Kiss my foot!�) and her Cosmopolitan confession that she has battled eating disorders. We’d almost be tempted to say that Ashlee should try a good, therapeutic romp with Nick, but look where that got Jessica!
