Cruise dumps sister |

Tom Cruise is finally making some good decisions. He's decided to dump his publicist and is now represented by Paul Bloch. Normally choosing a new publicist wouldn't cause an actor to think twice, but Cruise's former publicist was his sister, Lee Anne DeVette. DeVette, also a Scientologist, was in charge of Cruise's publicity last spring and summer, the period of time over which the word "Cruiseazy" was coined. Cruise, formerly a very stoic person when it came to his private life, was suddenly jumping on couches and attacking news anchors. One can't help but suspect that switching publicists is a move on Cruise's behalf to regain his old reputation. DeVette will now be in charge of her brother's charitable deeds. In a statement, Cruise said, "Lee Anne has done a wonderful job on behalf of myself and Cruise-Wagner Productions over the last few years. But she has always expressed a desire to oversee and expand the day-to-day activities of my charitable endeavors." DeVette remains Cruise's fiancee, Katie Holmes's publicist.
