Nobody is going to claim that a highlight of Cameron Diaz's career was her stint in the Polyettes, a cheerleading group at Long Beach Polytechnic High School. Then again, the same nobody will claim her nose for a great screenplay was operational when she decided to be in the bomb "Vanilla Sky" with the most vanilla of Scientologists. Nonetheless, Cameron dated Matt Dillon several years and was engaged to Jared Leto, so by the time Justin Timberlake got to her, he had some pretty big condoms, rather than shoes, to fill.
In the public imagination, Justin and Cameron aren't as natural a match as Justin and Britney. Mickey Mouse Club, Virgins, you know, it's all of a piece.
