Just my Luck star Lindsay Lohan was taken to the hospital by ambulance after the black Mercedes sports car she was driving collided with a mini van in Los Angeles Tuesday evening reports Star Magazine.
Eyewitnesses tell ,em>Star that Lindsay, 19, had eaten with friends at the Ivy restaurant in West Hollywood, then gone shopping when the accident happened on Robertson Boulevard.
"There were about 30 photographers outside covering the store; the poor girl just was shopping and they were just like hounding her," said Lori Satzberg, 43.
"She got into her black Mercedes across the street and they literally were like sitting on her car, trying to take pictures of her, she was like yelling at them to get off," said Satzberg.
"She was very upset," Javier Ramirez who works at Hideaway House antiques told The Associated Press. "She kept saying, 'Oh my God, oh my God, I can't believe it."'
"I think she was driving very fast - I would say around 60 miles an hour," says Katherine Starr, who, with her husband Richard, is a refugee from the devastation of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. "It was very scary."
"Lindsay looked really freaked out by the accident. She was very lucky, and so was the girl who was in the front passenger seat. If both airbags in the front had not inflated, both girls could have been seriously hurt."
The driver of the van, which careened into a parked vehicle, suffered moderate injuries, said Los Angeles County sheriff's Sgt. Diane Hecht.
Authorities said there was no evidence alcohol was involved in the crash.
In May 2005, Lohan was involved in an accident with a paparazzi. The car crash led to a state law aimed at reining in celebrity photographers.
