New York-based rapper, Cam'ron is at home recovering from a gunshot wound suffered during a failed carjacking attempt near a waterfront night spot his manager said Sunday.
According to reports Cam'ron was shot around 2:10 a.m. Sunday morning (October 23) in Washington, D.C. Cam'ron was driving away from the popular D.C. nightclub H2O in his blue Lamborghini en-route to Love (formerly Dream) when an unknown number of men tried to carjack him, according to the rapper's camp. They pulled up in their own vehicle and demanded Cam turn over his car reports MTVnews.com When Cam'ron did not cooperate, they fired multiple shots inside the car, shattering glass and hitting Cam'ron once in each arm, according to his rep.
"People are foolish if they think I'm going to lose my head and give up anything to anyone just because someone threatens me," Cam'ron, who was back home in Harlem, said in a statement Monday.
"I'm doing OK. It takes more than a botched carjacking to keep me down."
A D.C. police spokesman says the incident is under investigation, but they do not have any suspects.
Cam'ron, who rose to fame on the strength tracks like "Hey Ma" and "Oh Boy," also heads up the rap crew The Diplomats reports EOnline.
