Beckham spotted with Scientology book

Gossip

Beckhams becoming Scientologists?
Tom Cruise has been practicing his powers of persuasion on Britain's second royal family: the Beckhams. "Queen" Victoria, formerly known as "Posh Spice," has been spotted in Los Angeles carrying around a book by the founder of Scientology, L. Ron Hubbard. British newspaper, the Sun, suggests that Cruise's fiancee, Katie Holmes may have recommended the book, Assists For Illnesses and Injuries, to Victoria after her son was stricken with a mysterious condition. Scientologists believe that certain illnesses may be cured by a type of touching called Assists. Holmes may have referred Beckham to Assists when they sat together recently in the front row of Rock and Republic's LA fashion show. If Victoria becomes a convert to Scientology, this could be a huge coup for the religion. She and her husband, Real Madrid soccer player, David Beckham, are two of Britain's most recognizable stars. Tom Cruise is believed to have been trying to convert his famous friends for some time. (By Kate Lanahan)
