In case you doubted that gossip is international, we bring you a brief paragraph from a Norwegian web site that reported on Sean Penn's efforts to help flood victims in New Orleans.
New Orleans (NTB-AFP): Skuespilleren Sean Penn forsokte sondag a hjelpe flomrammede i New Orleans, men redningsforsoket var ytterst mislykket.
What that means is that the actor Sean Penn tried Sunday to give assistance to the people in New Orleans, but without much luck. It seems that Penn showed up in a motorized rowboat with a leak in its bottom. Not only did he have to continually bail water out from the craft, the motor didn't function either and he and his entourage had to paddle the boat down the flooded streets.
Of course, we can forgive a good-hearted celebrity for being inadequately prepared; but it's tougher to forgive the alleged president of the country for having put FEMA into the equivalent of a rickety rowboat springing leaks. (By Scott Rose)
