Early this year, rumors were raging that Marcia Cross of "Desperate Housewives" was a lesbian. The redheaded actress who also starred on "Melrose Place" and "Everwood" raced to deny the gossip on "The View" and then conveniently began being seen around Hollywood with a new man on her arm. It turns out her boyfriend wasn't just a tool for stopping the gay rumor. On Friday, Cross's publicist announced that she and the man - Tom Mahoney, a stockbroker - are engaged. "The happy couple have not set a date for the wedding yet," she said in a statement. Cross has more excitement in store soon - she's nominated for an Emmy for best actress in a comedy series. The awards take place next month.
