Designers to rework McDonald's uniforms |

The phrase, "Would you like fries with that?" sounds so much better when it's asked by someone in couture. The chances of that happening, however, are pretty slim. But now the fast food giant, McDonald's is enlisting some equally big names in the fashion industry to rework its employees' uniforms. McDonald's spokesman Bill Whitman said, "We believe that restaurant employees are brand ambassadors, and this is a great opportunity to have crew uniforms which are reflective of that. This would create designs that they'll be proud to wear not only in the restaurant, but outside, as well." Labels being considered to design the uniforms include Sean John, Tommy Hilfiger, Rocawear and Abercrombie and Fitch. Marc D'Amelio, chief executive of MadSoul Clothing, is skeptical of the plan, though. "All the things that are uncool about working at McDonald's are still going to be uncool at McDonald's. You still have to go home smelling like grease," he said. Ah, but at least your greasy clothes would have a designer label, right?
