Lil Kim sentenced to year in jail |

Rapper Lil Kim has got some hard times ahead. Today she was sentenced to a year and a day in prison for perjury. Prosecutors were seeking a sentence of three years and seven months, but the judge decided that it would not seem appropriate considering Martha Stewart was given only five months for a similar crime. But because Kim lied about a violent crime - a 2001 shootout outside a radio station - U.S. District Judge Gerard Lynch felt justified in the one-year sentence. "You sat right next to me there and stared in the eyes of the jurors, and you tried to charm them and you tried to fake them out," Lynch said.
