Governor defends Brooke Shields |

New Jersey's acting governor, Richard J. Codey, has stepped forward to support Brooke Shields in her war of words with Tom Cruise over her use of prescription drugs to treat postpartum depression reports People Magazine.
"Tom Cruise knows as much about postpartum depression as I do about acting," said the acting governor, whose wife, Mary Jo Codey, has struggled with the illness. "He should stick to acting and not talk about women who need help."
In a much-discussed outburst a week ago on the Today show, Cruise, 43, declared that there was no such thing as chemical imbalances that need to be corrected with drugs, and that depression could be treated with exercise and vitamins.

I read your article regarding Brook Shields upset with Tom Cruise over
"post-partum depression drug use" and I must say that having easily handled
my own post-partum problem with vitamins and exercise, and helping many
others - TOM IS ABSOLUTELY CORRECT. Why would anyone prefer the "quick-fix"
drug solution to natural remedies?
By Brook Shields comments I can see she knows nothing of what Scientology
is. What's wrong with someone's religion advocating non-drug use?
And if Tom Cruise believes that there is "alien" life in the trillions of
universes out there - how can we argue with that? Are any of us to believe
that we are the ONLY sentient beings in the universe? Is Brook so
short-sighted, and un-scientific to grasp that concept?
Good for Tom Cruise standing up for a non-drug solution in these times
that prescribed and street drugs have run rampant. Signed Liz
