Whatever the case, Fox has asked an independent counsel to investigate the matter. What's most at issue is whether Paula compromised the fairness of the show. Peter Liguori, the Fox president who ordered the inquiry nonetheless admits that it is always the viewers who vote on which semi-talented contestant should have a chance at a career.
