WCBS Kills Micky Dolenz

Music

WCBS-FM in New York has just followed a growing trend by replacing its "oldies" themed radio programming with "The Jack format," which runs off a broader range of mainstream hits from the 70's through the 90's.

One woman who had loved her oldies dearly called WCBS and told them that this was like The Invasion of The Body Snatchers. She can take comfort in the fact that on www.wcbsfm.com, one can still hear the true oldies format.

But there's little comfort for ex-Monkey Micky Dolenz; he had been working as CBS's oldies announcer in the morning, but along with the likes of Tom Jones, the Four Tops and the Supremes was shown to the CBS door, and they didn't even say "Don't call us, we'll call you."
