Madonna to launch perfume

Madonna is known for her uncanny ability to anticipate trends. From her black rubber bracelets in the '80s to her henna tattoos in the late '90s, Madonna has always been a trendsetter. So why is it that she is the last to jump on the signature scent bandwagon? Stars like Elizabeth Taylor and Jennifer Lopez have had their own perfumes for quite some time. Britney Spears and Paris Hilton have released scents more recently. Now Madonna is jumping on the perfume bandwagon. According to British gossip website Female First, the Material Girl signed a nearly $10 million deal to release "Madonna" perfume. The perfume will hit stores in December to coincide with the release of her next album. (By Kate Lanahan)
