Everyone knows that Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson have been having marital woes lately - no matter how many times she's done cover stories for US Weekly claiming everything's fine. But Star claims to have the real scoop: the couple isn't even together anymore. A source for the magazine, who was at last week's Costume Institute Gala, said, "I asked [Jessica] where Nick was [that night] and she told me, 'Oh, Nick and I aren't together,'-- as if I was the last to hear the news!" A secret split would explain Jessica's recent antics - hooking up with Fred Durst and going out with Bam Margera. One of Nick's friends told Star, "Nick and Jessica may be separated. I know their publicists and managers are trying to figure everything out in terms of their careers, but it seems like there's no more marriage." And we thought they'd be together forever.
