It seems as though Lindsay Lohan is this close to landing a part in Tom Cruise's Mission Impossible: 3. Scarlett Johansson was originally signed on for the role, but had to back out due to a scheduling conflict. Lindsay spoke out about her possible casting in an interview with Los Angeles's KIIS FM in connection with her Wango Tango performance. She confessed that she'd soon be heading to China for a film, stating, "'Mission Impossible 3.' Shhhh. You're the first ones I've told." Unfortunately she may have spoken too soon as the New York Post says Elisha Cuthbert is still in the running for the part.
Speaking of Tom Cruise and casting, the New York Daily News reports that his latest "girlfriend", Katie Holmes is currently in talks to replace Sienna Miller in the Edie Sedgwick biopic, Factory Girl. A source told the paper "Tom loves getting into his roles, and he's already helping Katie research Edie. I've heard they're even going to the cemetery where Edie is buried." Other big names for the movie include Guy Pearce, Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale.
In other casting notes, Kelsey Grammer is set to follow up his Emmy award-winning role as Frasier by becoming a mutant. He will be playing Beast in the third X-men movie, which is scheduled to open next summer.
Renee Zellweger may not want to take the country out of her new husband, Kenny Chesney, but she does want to take him out of the country. Page Six reports that she's asked Kenny to move to Connecticut and he's agreed. This would bring the couple's combined home total to six.
