Demi's contradictory pregnancy precautions

In the mid-1980s women all over the world learned that smoking was a harmful habit to continue during pregnancy. But Demi Moore must have missed that day in health class. Star magazine is reporting that Moore, who is estimated to be 11 weeks pregnant, has not given up cigarettes. Moore's smoking is particularly strange when compared to her otherwise healthy lifestyle. She is a supporter of the raw food diet and does not drink. She's even reportedly given up caffeine recently. But the cigarettes stay around. An insider told Star, "Demi says her mom smoked while pregnant, and she turned out all right." But if she's so lax about her baby's health in this area, why has she gone to such extreme measures in other areas lately? She's started binging on protein, eschewing her raw food diet for burgers. She's asked her housekeepers not to use chemical cleansers. She's even forbade perfume and smoking in her home. That Demi, what a ball of contradictions. (By Kate Lanahan)
