The Schindlers and Michael Schiavo continued their bitterness over the Terri they loved who, after 15 years in a persistent vegetative state, expired after her maintenance tube was removed. Michael had an autopsy carried out on Terri's cadaver, but the parents weren't allowed to have an independent expert observe the autopsy. The point of the autopsy, from Michael's point of view, is to show that Terri was so massively brain-damaged that she was incapable of thought and emotion and that there was no hope for any kind of improvement in her condition, all of which flies in the face of the Schindler's opinions, if not those of medical experts. Even as the animosity between the Schindlers and Michael Schiavo continued unabated, on Saturday Terri's cadaver was cremated. Ashes to ashes, media frenzy to media frenzy. (By Scott Rose)
