Mel Gibson faces stalker Zack Sinclair

Sinclair, 34, a native of Idaho, is charged with one count of felony stalking for writing unwanted letters and showing up at Gibson's home and church to pray with the Hollywood star.

Sinclair began writing letters to the actor in July 2004, after being obsessed by the movie "The Passion of the Christ" directed by Gibson. The movie depicts the last 12 hours in Christ's life reports Earthtimes.

Mel Gibson said he was worried about his family's safety and was even concerned for the defendant.

Gibson said Sinclair (34) doesn't appear to know his boundaries and that he was unwanted. Although Sinclair wasn't scary or threatening, Gibson said the young man lacked respect for personal boundaries.

When reading aloud some of the letters from Sinclair, Gibson stopped to ask Deputy District Attorney Debra Archuleta if it were necessary to go on.
