Jane Fonda as Barbarella |

It looks like aerobics weren't the only tactic Jane Fonda used to keep her figure in such enviable shape. She was also a fan of the scarf and barf technique. Fonda, controversial political figure and the actress behind the ground-breaking sci-fi porn flick, Barbarella, shared her trials with bulimia at a conference for teen girls this past weekend in Montana. While at the Montana State University's Girls for a Change Conference, Fonda said, "I was bulimic for 35 years. I mistook the physical hunger for spiritual hunger." Fonda encouraged the young women at the conference to confront the problems facing their generation on their own. I'm sure she'll continue to inspire us all with her upcoming film, Monster-in-Law, in which she'll share the screen with Jennifer Lopez. I doubt Fonda was the monster on that set.
