Insanity In Rome
Pope John Paul II never has had a hard time getting a lucrative book deal; his latest, published first in Polish and coming in a language nearer to yours soon, is called "Memory and Identity." Advance word has it that in the book, Nazism and other forms of totalitarianism are linked to various social ills among which the pope allows to be included homosexuality. It was back in 1986 that Vatican strongman Cardinal Jeseph Ratzinger spelled out John Paul II's attitude towards gays, saying that homosexuality is an "intrinsic moral evil" which should be considered an "objective disorder." Gay leaders could not be reached for comment on whether talking about an immaculate conception should be considered an "objective disorder," but Harvey Fierstein would probably have something funny to say to his holiness.
