Jury Selection Starts in Jackson Molestation Case

Jackson Molestation Case
After more than an hour's wait, Jackson and his attorney stood and faced the first group of prospective jurors filing into the courtroom in his child-molestation trial today. Superior Court Judge Rodney Melville summoned 300 people today as jury selection begins for Michael Jackson's child molestation case.

Another 300 are set to appear Tuesday, and a final 150 on Wednesday. From that pool the judge hopes to find 12 jurors and 12 alternates. Jackson, 46, is charged with molesting a cancer patient then age 13, now 15 after plying him with alcohol.

Jackson on Sunday released a videotaped statement saying that leaks to the media about grand jury testimony in the case contained information that was "disgusting and false" and predicted victory at trial.

Spurred on by the popular conception that because she has a reputation as a hard-partying chick, she is like Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, currently filming the romantic comedy "Just My Luck" in New Orleans, is taking the advice of an acting coach who told her to watch Grace Kelly and Bette Davis movies and to start behaving more like the grandes dames of cinema. Watch out, Katherine Hepburne, Lindsay is angling to out-class you, and The Bosh, of course, has no doubt that she will succeed. (By Scott Rose)
