Today is Mary Tyler Moore's birthday. A product of Brooklyn, Moore enjoyed a career that ranged from her performing as a dancer in "Happy Hotpoint" appliance commercials to her winning a Tony for playing a quadriplegic who wants to end it all in "Whose Life Is It, Anyway?" Ms. Moore was recently in the news when her Fifth Avenue co-op ousted hawks from a nest in the building's exterior structure.
